Buffalo Bills 2024 rookie minicamp roster: Draft class, UDFA and field trials

The Buffalo Bills are holding a rookie minicamp this weekend, which means the team’s 2024 NFL Draft class is getting their first taste of life as professional athletes.

Before Friday’s start, the Bills officially announced the signing of 12 undrafted free agents. Buffalo Rumblings has been tracking the team’s undrafted free agent additions since the moments following the 2024 NFL Draft, but we had yet to hear any official word regarding the team’s new additions.

That changed at 6 p.m. EDT Thursday evening, and the following 12 recruits made their deals official:

  • Keaton Bills, OG (Utah)
  • Rondell Bothroyd, DT (Oklahoma)
  • Gunner Britton, OG (Auburn)
  • Jack Browning, P (San Diego State)
  • Te’Cory Couch, CB (Miami)
  • Branson Deen, DT (Miami)
  • Mike Edwards, OL (Campbell)
  • Frank Gore Jr., RB (South Mississippi)
  • Xavier Johnson, WR (Ohio State)
  • Lawrence Keys, WR (Tulane)
  • Keni-H Lovely, BC (West Michigan)
  • David Ugwoegbu, DE (Houston)

The team released its 2024 rookie minicamp roster, which includes players who are at One Bills Drive on a tryout basis. An interesting name among the list is that of Zed Williams, a professional lacrosse player from the Western New York area. His test will consist of work with the tight end and linebacker.

Also featured is quarterback Jacob Eason, who at age 26 failed to hang on to an NFL roster after being drafted in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Chargers .

There are four alumni from the University at Buffalo in Orchard Park, New York, who are hoping to make the team. They are linebacker Joe Andreessen, receiver Cole Harrity, edge rusher Jyaire Stevens, linebacker Joe Andreessen and kicker Alex McNulty.

In total, there are 26 additional players at One Bills Drive on a trial basis:

  • Quarterbacks: Jacob Eason, Gunnar Watson
  • Offensive linemen: Corey Gaynor, Michael Furtney
  • To come back: Trevor Yeboah-Kodie
  • Wide receivers: D’Marcus Adams, Cole Harrity
  • Tight ends: Zed Williams (also LB), George Takacs, Gene Scott, Mason Fairchild
  • Edge rushers: Nelson Paul, Jyaire Stevens

  • Defensive backs: Trill Williams, Danny Johnson, Al Walcott, Jason Simmons, Sheridan Jones, Travis Blackshear
  • Specialists: Alex McNulty (kicker), Seth Mackellar (long snapper)

Which drafted rookies and undrafted free agents are you most excited to see more of and learn more about? Are any of the players in town being tried out that stand out, do you hope they are able to make a good impression and stick with the Buffalo Bills at this point in the season?
