Jon Glaser topples Houston Dynamo on ‘Tonight Show’

The Michigan native, who grew up in suburban Detroit, blasted the football team during a live taping of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Thursday.

“They are a league below MLS and as everyone here knows, DC FC is coming off a huge win in the U.S. Open Cup beating the defending champions, the MLS team (Major League Soccer) Houston Dynamo,” Glaser told the audience. “So, over to you Houston.”

Glaser, with a smile on his face, shut down the Houston Dynamo and then laughed about it with Fallon. His actions prompted Fallon to ask “What’s wrong with you?” » as the host could barely contain his laughter.

“Nobody here knows this team,” Fallon told Glaser.

But Glaser insisted Detroit City FC deserved more recognition than it received as a local soccer club. Glaser appeared on the late-night talk show dressed in Detroit City FC-themed sportswear.

“I have a nice jersey here,” he said, referring to his ability to coordinate head-to-toe with Detroit City FC gear. “I have the scarf – the hat, I don’t know if you want to have the socks – if you want to have a good sock photo.”

Dynamo’s loss to Detroit City FC eliminated them from the US Open Cup race. The team won the US Open Cup in 2018 and 2023.
