St. Vincent de Paul hosts wellness fair for East Buffalo

A health and wellness fair sponsored by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Buffalo and WNY will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 29 at the Delavan-Grider Community Center, 877 E. Delavan Ave.

The event, titled “Assessing Health Disparities in East Buffalo,” will feature representatives from local social service agencies who will offer information on health and wellness and answer residents’ questions on the topic. Among the 14 participating agencies are Roswell Park Cancer Comprehensive Center, Independent Health and Catholic Charities.

D’Youville University nursing students will help participants answer survey questions about their knowledge and experience related to the health and wellness resources available to them. The data collected will be analyzed and the results used to help determine future actions to improve the health and well-being of East Buffalo residents.
