Three Houston-area firefighters were hospitalized due to smoke inhalation during a fire in northeast Harris County. Two of the firefighters have since been released.

The fire was reported shortly after 2 p.m. at Prestige Auto and Metal Recycling, located at 7615 East Mount Houston Road. The facility primarily recycles scrap metal debris, cars and lithium-ion batteries from scooters.

The flaming pile is about 80 feet high and covers about an acre of land.

Units from the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office are currently going back and forth through the water trying to stop the flames. Several other agencies, including 13 different fire departments, are also helping.
