Father, son arrested in South Buffalo shooting

Kwanza Battle, 49, and Kwanza Battle II, 25, are both charged with attempted second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree reckless endangerment. They are being held in the Erie County Detention Center.

According to the report, they were identified as suspects in a shooting that occurred around 9:15 p.m. on June 15 at South Park and West Woodside avenues. They were taken into custody four days later.

Police said officers arriving on scene determined the victim was taken to Mercy Hospital in a private vehicle and then transferred by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center.
