Father and son arrested in connection with South Buffalo shooting and charged with attempted murder

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A father and son have been arrested and charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting in south Buffalo that occurred last weekend, the Buffalo Police Department announced Thursday.

At approximately 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, South District officers responded to a call of shots fired at South Park and W. Woodside avenues. Buffalo police said the victim, a 31-year-old Buffalo man, had already been taken to Mercy Hospital by private vehicle by the time officers arrived at the suspected shooting scene.


Kwanza Battle, 49, and her son Kwanza Battle II, 25, were identified, apprehended and arrested Wednesday, according to police.

Both men were charged with attempted second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree reckless endangerment.
