Caroline Lambert Houston | Free news from Iredell

Caroline Lambert Houston77, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 in Concord, North Carolina. She was born September 16, 1946 in Iredell County to Kenneth Lambert and Jessie Trivette Matlock.

Caroline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Ray Houston; and her daughter, Kimberly Delores Bustle.

She is survived by her son, Harold Lee Bustle; daughters, Ellen Patrick, Gina Shumaker, Tammy Moehlenpah, Cassaundra Hefner and Corella Grubbs; grandchildren, Michael Bustle, Derrick Bustle, Brian Bustle, Kelly Martin, Justin Houston, Jordan Houston and Ana Martin; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Caroline dedicated her life to caring for her seven children; she had a deep love for her family and the Lord. Caroline was a talented musician and often played piano, electric guitar, bass, banjo, and almost any instrument by ear. In addition to reading music, she also spent time writing gospel songs. In addition to his music. she spent time thrifting and marketing at flea markets, where she enjoyed the “camaraderie.”

There was a special place in his heart for the Bunton family of Truevine Church. The loving Bunton family has been there for the Houston family for decades.

The family would like to thank the team at West Iredell Dialysis for so many years of taking such great care of our mother and always being kind to her in the good days and the difficult days.

Visitation for Mrs. Houston will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m., with Pastors Barbara and Josh Bunton officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
