Houston police investigate fatal hit-and-run crash | Texas

Houston, TX — Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred at 9600 Southwest Freeway early Sunday morning.

The identity of the victim, a 37-year-old man, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer J. Leon of the HPD Vehicle Crimes Division reported that a witness said the victim was riding a black Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on the highway when she was hit by a white BMW 320i, which was also heading east. The impact caused the motorcyclist to be ejected into the grassy area away from the highway. The driver of the BMW lost control, crossed the grassy area, then fled eastbound on the highway service road.
