Raheem Morris explains how the Atlanta Falcons prioritized mental health

Head coach of the Atlanta Falcons Raheem Morris ensures players take care of their mental health. While speaking to reporters earlier this month, Morris was asked what the Falcons were doing to help players mentally, as June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month.

“It’s a tough assignment playing in the National Football League,” Morris said. “When I got here, I talked about guys’ mental health, and we’re in the process of hiring people to be able to help our guys and make sure our mental health is strong, to make sure our character is strong , to ensure that their personal life is strong.

“We have Fernando (Velasco) and Lovey (Tabron) who are part of the development and commitment of our players and managers of those positions and those coordinated roles who are really doing everything they can to help our guys get better , whether it’s personal skills, whether it’s on-field skills, whether it’s performance or whatever it is. We just want to evolve this thing to a little bit different structure than the. National Football League. We want to be different from everyone else.

Raheem Morris wants Falcons to be a ‘world class’ team

Morris continued: “When we came here we talked about being world class. I think when you talk about being world class, you’re talking world class across the board. That’s one of the rights you have to have for these guys and how important it is, not only to me, but to our property and to Arthur Blank and how he feels and all of philanthropy of which he is a part and all of which we have been one. part of here. I think it’s very important that our guys are well-rounded in all areas when it comes to all of these types of things and that they’re certainly able to help these guys in all of those areas.

Morris and the Falcons just finished their mandatory minicamp and now have some time off before reporting to training camp next month. After three straight 7–10 seasons, the Falcons hired Morris in the offseason to replace him. Arthur Smith who is now the offensive coordinator of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Falcons attract lots of attention after signing quarterback Kirk Cousins to a $180 million contract and draft quarterback Michael Penix Jr. with the No. 8 pick in this year’s draft.
