How Georgia Football Could Play 4 Games in Atlanta This Season

How Georgia Football Could Play 4 Games in Atlanta This Season

The Georgia Bulldogs could play four times at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia during the 2024 college football season. Georgia is only scheduled to play Atlanta once this season, but has the opportunity to play four matches at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Georgia hosts Georgia Tech on Black Friday this year, so the Bulldogs won’t travel to Atlanta to face their in-state rivals.

Georgia’s goal will be to start and end the season with a victory in Atlanta. The more Georgia football wins, the more Georgia will play in Atlanta.

Georgia’s second possible appearance in Atlanta will be in the SEC Championship Game. The 16-team SEC does not have a division this year. The two SEC teams with the best conference regular season records will advance to the SEC Championship in Atlanta. Georgia has appeared in six of the last seven SEC championship games, but will face a daunting 2024 schedule that includes road games at Alabama, Texas and Ole Miss. There is no guarantee the Bulldogs will make another appearance in the SEC title game.

Georgia’s other two games that could be played in Atlanta would be part of the expanded College Football Playoff schedule. What four games could Georgia play in Atlanta with the remainder of the playoff schedule?
