Conway native makes MLB debut with Braves

ATLANTA (WMBF) – A former Conway Tiger made his long-awaited Major League Baseball debut on Sunday.

Grant Holmes took to the mound from the Atlanta Braves bullpen during their game against the Tampa Bay Rays. Holmes pitched three shutout innings and allowed just two hits. He also struck out two batters.

Holmes, a Conway native and Conway High School alumnus, was a first-round draft pick of the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2014. Since then, he has primarily played in the minor leagues in the Dodgers, Braves and Oakland Athletics systems .
