Buffalo Public Schools announce half days due to excessive heat ahead

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — With excessive heat expected in Western New York this week, Buffalo Public Schools announced it will implement half days for students.

Students in grades K-8 will be posted three and a half hours earlier than their usual dismissal times on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Lunch will be served before students leave for the day.

High school students are still expected to sit for scheduled New York State Regents exams throughout the week. Water stations will be available for students taking these tests.
