HOUSTON — This weekend’s road work report begins with good news for those of you driving the West Loop/Southwest Freeway interchange. After years of construction, the northbound 610 ramp to northbound 69 will finally reopen. The exact timing is unclear, but TxDOT posted on X that they hope to open it at some point Sunday.

But while they reopen the connector, crews will have to close two northbound lanes of 610 NB in ​​Bellaire and two main lanes of the southwest freeway northbound at 610 until 5 a.m. Monday.

While there is good news for drivers at this interchange, there are other places where drivers will brake and look for detours.

  • Northbound Freeway between FM 525/Aldine Bender and Greens Road: Two left lanes will be closed continuously until 9 p.m. Saturday.
  • Southbound North Highway between Rankin and Greens: two left lanes will be closed until 9 p.m. Saturday.
  • Lanes reserved for HOVs on the North highway: total closure until Sunday at 4 p.m.
  • Northbound Highway North between 525/Aldine Bender and Greens Road: Three right lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.
  • Southbound North Highway between Rankin and Greens: three right lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.
