Alice Schaffer obituary – Buffalo Grove, IL

Alice Schaffer, née Forst, aged 71, died on December 30, 2014 with her family by her side after a long illness. Beloved wife of Donald Schaffer of Northbrook, Illinois. Loving mother of Geri (Shawn Hammer) Schaffer, Beth (Sean) Bezark and Michael (Holly) Schaffer. Proud grandmother of seven grandchildren. Daughter of the late Emma and Maurice Forst. She worked in the insurance field for thirty years after teaching preschool and kindergarten for several years. She loved embroidery and playing mahjong with her longtime childhood friends. She had the extraordinary ability to remember everyone she had ever met anywhere; even though she only met them once. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Service 10 a.m. Thursday at Chicago Jewish Funeral Home, 195 North Buffalo Grove Rd (one block north of Lake Cook Rd.), Buffalo Grove. Burial Shalom.
