Candidate Taral Patel arrested – Katy News coverage

RICHMOND, TX (Press Release) – The Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Public Integrity Unit, in cooperation with the Texas Rangers, is investigating a complaint against Taral Patel, a political candidate for County Commissioner of the 3rd Congressional District.

Today, the Rangers executed search and arrest warrants in support of this investigation. The primary complaints are allegations of third-degree online identity fraud and false identity, a Class A misdemeanor as found under Texas Election Code. No further details are available at this time as the investigation is ongoing.

Patel, 30, is being held on $20,000 bail for the felony and $2,500 for the misdemeanor and will appear before a justice of the peace on Thursday morning if he does not post bail by then.
