Atlanta Braves News: Ian Anderson update, offensive horrors and more

Justin Toscano of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution provided a promising update on Atlanta Braves pitcher Ian Anderson, who underwent Tommy John surgery in April 2023.

The operation typically requires a recovery period of 12 to 18 months, so the start of rehabilitation may not be too far away.

Anderson had a forgettable 2021 in Atlanta and achieved huge success when the Braves won the Fall Classic. He has since declined and been traded between Triple-A and the major leagues. Hopefully, Anderson will return to his pre-injury stats and return to the starting rotation.

The Kansas City Royals have placed outfielder Hunter Renfroe on the 10-day injured list with a broken toe. In a corresponding move, the club recalled former Brave Drew Waters.

The Chicago White Sox called up top pitcher Drew Thorpe. In his debut against the Seattle Mariners, Thorpe pitched five innings, allowed two runs, walked two and fanned four.
