PAWS Atlanta has named Crystal Bowman as its new executive director.

Bowman will lead animal shelter operations in Fulton and DeKalb counties as well as lead planning the strategic vision for the future of PAWS Atlanta.

“When the board decided to hire our next executive director, we had high expectations from the leader we needed to hire,” PAWS Board President Patty Lavely said in a press release. “Crystal has the experience, skills and personality we were looking for. PAWS Atlanta is in good hands to lead us into the future.

Bowman has more than 15 years of experience in fundraising, development and management of nonprofit organizations. Most recently, Bowman served as senior director of impact and member giving at Hadassah, an international women’s organization. She also served as Executive Director of Voices of Note and Senior Vice President of Programs for StandUp for Kids, two mission-driven nonprofit organizations in the Atlanta area.

“I am absolutely thrilled to embark on this new chapter of my journey at PAWS Atlanta. Working alongside the dedicated staff and board members, I look forward to the endless possibilities that lie ahead,” Bowman said in the release. “Together, we will continue to nurture and grow PAWS Atlanta, creating a haven for our four-legged friends and making a lasting impact on their lives.” This isn’t just a job for me, it’s a sincere passion, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this incredible team.
