Accident on Route 5 kills child

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A crash on Route 5 in Hamburg claimed the life of a child Saturday evening, according to Hamburg police.

The crash happened on Route 5 and North Creek Road around 8 p.m. Saturday evening. Two cars were involved and a child died, while several other people were injured, according to police. The road was completely closed for several hours for investigation.

Hamburg police said more details would be provided as the investigation continued.
