Roswell receives highest possible ranking from National Cancer Institute

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Queen City gem just received major national recognition.

Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center announced today that it has received the highest possible rating from the National Cancer Institute.

The NCI “Outstanding” rating is achieved by less than 4% of U.S. cancer centers.

“This is huge because it shows patients that we are as good as we say we are,” said Dr. Candace Johnson, president and CEO of Roswell. “We didn’t do this evaluation, people came from outside and evaluated us critically. Believe me, it’s not a piece of cake.

Roswell also received a renewal of a federal grant, which will provide $22.5 million over the next five years.
