LIV Golf begins the second half of its 2024 schedule this weekend at its inaugural event at The Golf Club of Houston. Thirteen teams compete until Sunday to win a $25 million purse.

On day one, Cleeks GC closed the round strong to finish the first round at 17 under. Martin Kaymer, Adrian Merok and Kalle Samooja combined for nine birdies on the back nine to take a three-shot lead over Torque GC. Kaymer and Meronk each shot a 7-under 65 to tie the best score of the day.

Torque GC finished the first round two shots ahead before a four-way tie for third place. Carlos Ortiz led the way with a 6-under-66 and captain Joaquín Niemann finished with a 5-under-67.
