2028 NFL Draft Could Be Held in Buffalo, Mayor Brown Says

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Mayor Byron Brown confirmed earlier this week that Buffalo plans to submit a bid to host the 2028 NFL Draft.

Buffalo’s mayor first raised the idea of holding such a large-scale event in Western New York on Friday.

“Bringing the NFL Draft here will have a positive benefit for the entire Buffalo-Niagara region,” he said. “And for sure, anything I can do as mayor of the city of Buffalo to support the Buffalo Bills in their work to bring the NFL Draft here, I certainly will.”

This year’s draft in Detroit set a record with approximately 775,000 fans in attendance over the three days.

The NFL Draft used to take place over a two-day period in New York hotels. However, over the past decade, it has become an annual spectacle, moving from Radio City Music Hall to the stunning settings of host cities across the country.
