Students make night lights to donate to Beds for Buffalo

Students from OLV Human Services and the Stanley G. Falk School are donating night lights they made to Beds for Buffalo.

The nonprofit builds up to 300 twin beds for children in need each year using local volunteers, schools and corporate partners.

The night lights were made possible with the help of makerspace The Foundry.

“A lot of these students, when they came here, it was their first time using digital design software,” said Amina Boyd, director of education at The Foundry. “Some of them had experience with 3D printing, a little bit of familiarity, but it was really their first 3D printing. They learned a lot of really impressive skills that could lead them down a career path or towards the next stages of their studies.”

Beds for Buffalo has distributed approximately 1,000 beds since its start in 2018.
