A marketplace for designers who will transform POST Houston into a shopping paradise – shopping local has never been more fun

A marketplace for designers who will transform POST Houston into a shopping paradise – shopping local has never been more fun

LAre you looking for a market without farmers? You are lucky. POST Houston is hosting a Markets for Makers event this Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Markets for Makers began in 2015 and quickly grew by hosting national markets featuring unique items. This organization aims to bring together creators of all kinds. That means artists, small business owners, bakers, artisans, designers and more. The goal is to bridge the gap between independent creators and their customers by creating a home base – a place to meet without the commitment of a storefront.

These markets can have a lasting impact and revitalize local economies in surrounding neighborhoods and communities.

“We love how Houstonians are doing for all of our small businesses in our markets and are excited to call POST our home this year,” said Natalie Christensen, founder and SEO of Markets for Makers.

At this year’s Houston Markets for Makers event, home decor, fashion, art, design, food and more will be for sale. Participating local Houston vendors include Leah Sweet Ceramics, 6PM Candle Co, Root to Home homewares and treats from The Penny Post Bakery. Not only can you browse, but there are also captivating experiences including a DIY craft bar and photo walls. More than 120 makers will be present at POST this weekend and food trucks will be there to satisfy all desires.

General admission tickets start at $8 and include a free tote bag. VIP tickets are $15 with the freedom to shop all weekend long, including an exclusive preview hour on Saturday morning and a Disney-style fast-track queue. Families are encouraged, children enter free and even four-legged friends are welcome.

It’s a fun way to support small business owners in Houston.
