Man admits to manslaughter after 2022 Buffalo assault

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A man involved in a fatal 2022 assault in Buffalo has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, according to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office.

On Dec. 17, around 10 p.m., Christopher Busby, 40, and two Buffalo men, including his son, assaulted Mikhail Scott, 25, in an apartment building in the 100 block of Rodney St.


Scott was repeatedly punched, kicked and dragged from the apartment to the sidewalk. He was transported to ECMC where he died from his injuries.

Busby is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 19 and faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison. He was released on bail set at $300,000.

His son, Daiquan Busby, 21, faces the same sentence.
