CAMPO, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) – A motorcyclist was ejected from his vehicle and killed in a crash in the Campo area Monday, authorities said.

The collision occurred around 5:45 p.m. on Old Highway 80 near Church Road, California Highway Patrol Officer Jared Grieshaber said in a news release Tuesday.

A 78-year-old woman was driving a 2014 Toyota Corolla southbound in the above area when she attempted to turn left into the Golden Acorn Casino. According to authorities, a 54-year-old man riding a 2022 Harley Davidson Road Glide crashed into the front of the Toyota traveling from the north.

The motorcyclist from Ramona was thrown onto the road and succumbed to his injuries, while the Toyota driver from Imperial was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
