FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Direct flights from Fresno Yosemite International Airport to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport will begin Friday.

The direct service, provided by Delta Air Lines, can connect Central Valley passengers to more than 200 global destinations, according to Fresno Yosemite International Airport.

Speaking when the direct service was announced in September, Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer said Fresno residents deserve an airport that gets them where they need to go.

“Providing non-stop service to such an important transportation hub is huge for our residents. I want to thank Delta Air Lines for once again investing in Fresno. Big cities have big airports, and it’s these types of movements that make our city great.

According to the airport, Atlanta will be Fresno’s longest route and will provide passengers with more convenient travel options and seamless connectivity.

Details provided by Delta show that the route will be operated with a Boeing 737-800. The flight from Fresno to Atlanta on Friday, June 7 departs at 10:30 p.m. and arrives in Atlanta at 5:52 a.m.; The return flight to Fresno on June 8 departs Atlanta at 7:37 p.m. and arrives in Fresno at 9:23 p.m. Flight time for flights to the East Coast and back is less than five hours.
