She Leads: Empowering Women for Financial Well-Being

The She Leads women’s empowerment program, hosted by the Atlanta Hawks, wrapped up its final session at Georgia Power with a day filled with transformational sessions focused on financial wellness.

The She Leads Program is a year-long development program aimed at supporting advancement and growth opportunities for early-career women in Atlanta. This program includes approximately 50 early career women aged 22 to 35 who focus on the Business, Sports & Entertainment, STEAM and Entrepreneurship categories.

The day, hosted at Georgia Power, included moments of reflection and interactive workshops that created a circle of support for participants. During the day, She Leaders and Mentors gained valuable insights into their financial journey, including advice on salary and contract negotiation, personal finance, and professional and financial growth.

At the personal finance workshop, led by Operation Hope’s Kimberly Lawson, participants delved deeper into their financial aspirations, assessed their current situation, and developed concrete steps to achieve their goals.

Led by Lester Jones, senior vice president of financial planning and analysis at the Atlanta Hawks & State Farm Arena, attendees explored aligning their personal financial goals with their future aspirations during the “Bridging the gap and achieve your dreams. Through engaging discussions and guided exercises, they laid the foundation for their financial journey ahead.

During a fireside chat, Georgia Power’s Nicole Carter and Southern Company’s Aliyah Youmans shared a candid conversation that guided attendees through career and financial growth, understanding priorities, and identifying opportunities. their aspirations.

Michelle Leftwich of the Atlanta Hawks led a session on salary negotiations, equipping participants with strategies and confidence to effectively advocate for their value in the workplace. The Hawks’ Will Stephens guided attendees through the intricacies of contract negotiations, giving them the skills to navigate deals effectively.

At the end of the She Leads women’s empowerment program, participants left ready to conquer their financial futures.
