The westbound on-ramp to the Sam Houston Expressway was closed at I-45 North after a person was found shot to death inside a vehicle, deputies say

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Authorities closed the westbound North Sam Houston Tollway connector ramp to Interstate 45 after they said a motorist was found shot to death Monday evening.

The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office said deputies were called to the Turnpike regarding a single-vehicle crash into the wall of the connector ramp to Highway I -45 North.

According to the police bureau, officers found a person dead as they approached the vehicle. They added that the person appeared to have been shot.

An investigation is underway. Deputies urged drivers to avoid the area.
