Find out who’s headlining this year’s Shell Freedom Over Texas

HOUSTON (KIAH) – Houston Mayor John Whitmire, alongside Shell USA, is excited to unveil plans for the City of Houston’s official Fourth of July extravaganza, “Shell Freedom Over Texas.”

Mayor Whitmire extended a warm invitation to the public, urging everyone to come and enjoy the festivities as the nation commemorates its anniversary and pays tribute to the courageous individuals who safeguarded its freedom. He expressed his gratitude to Shell and other sponsors for their continued support of this long-standing tradition. The event promises a wide range of entertainment for all ages. Mayor Whitmire encourages attendees to bring their loved ones and their patriotic fervor for an afternoon filled with family activities, live entertainment and culminating in fireworks.


Multi-platinum recording artist Russell Dickerson will take center stage on the Shell Main Stage. A Tennessee native, Dickerson has made waves in the music industry with four consecutive topping singles on the Billboard Country Airplay charts. With hits like “Yours,” “Blue Tacoma,” and “Every Little Thing” under his belt, Dickerson continues to captivate audiences with his latest release, “Good Day To Have A Great Day.”

Joining the celebration is special guest Jo Dee Messina, a pioneer of the country music scene known for her powerful voice and chart-topping hits. With classics like “Heads Carolina, Tails California” and a string of No. 1 singles under his belt, Messina’s latest offering, “Just to Be Loved,” adds to his illustrious career, festooned with CMA accolades, ACM and Grammy.

Joining the lineup is Chapel Hart, winning hearts on America’s Got Talent and straight from the legendary Grand Ole Opry. Comprised of Danica and Devynn Hart along with their cousin Trea Swindle, Chapel Hart infuses their Mississippi roots and Louisiana flair into a dynamic blend of ballads and rock anthems.

The festivities will culminate with a dazzling fireworks display from Pyrotechnico, dedicated to the selfless acts of first responders and the resilience of Houstonians during difficult times.

Tickets for the event are $10 per person, with children ages five and under receiving free entry. Tickets can be purchased online or at the gates, with service fees applicable for online transactions.
