Rachel Briers – ABC13 Houston

Rachel Briers joined the ABC13 weather team in December 2018.

Before joining us in Houston, Rachel was the Chief Meteorologist at KWES in Midland, Texas, where she covered all weather conditions in West Texas, including tornadoes, large hail and severe winter storms.

Rachel discovered her passion for weather at a young age. His father’s parents were farmers and the weather was a daily topic at the dinner table. Following in her parents’ footsteps, Rachel attended Texas A&M University where she earned a degree in atmospheric science and also met her future husband. After graduation, she traveled to West Texas to begin her career in meteorology in Lubbock. Rachel is also a member of the American Mogenic Society and enjoys giving educational weather lectures in schools and the community.

Originally from Texas, Rachel grew up north of Dallas in Plano and is excited to be a part of the Houston family. She loves barre, puppies and traveling. You’ll be sure to find her at the rodeo in the spring and at sporting events in Houston all year round!
