Buffalo Police Find Armed Suspect With Help Of Helicopter

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo Police say they found a fleeing suspect with the help of the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Air 1 helicopter.

Last Friday evening, Ferry-Fillmore District officers said they received a call about a man with a gun. The airline Air 1, already in operation, found the individual in question while he was fleeing on foot, police said.

The suspect, identified as Brandon Hinton, a 23-year-old man from Buffalo, was apprehended at the corner of Genesee and Doat streets. Additionally, police said they recovered a handgun that had been reported stolen in Atlanta.

Hinton was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property.
