Chef Behind Amrina to Open Fried Chicken Concept in Midtown

Kahani Social Group, the team behind popular Woodlands restaurant Amrina, has signed a lease for fried chicken restaurant Pok Pok Po, according to a press release. The restaurant is the group’s second culinary venture.

Brothers Surpreet and Preet Paul Singh and Michelin Plate Chef Jassi Bindra will open the restaurant in the original location of French restaurant Artisans, in the heart of Midtown. Located near restaurants such as JINYA Ramen Bar, Piola’s and Gen Korean BBQ, fried chicken will be the focus at Pok Pok Po, along with a selection of eclectic sides, house-made condiments and sauces.

“The inspiration for Pok Pok Po came from the overwhelming success of our fried chicken brunches at Amrina,” Singh said in the release. “We knew there was something truly special about our fried chicken, and we’re excited to bring that magic to Pok Pok Po.”

Pok Pok Po is expected to open in late summer. The restaurant will be located at 3201 Louisiana Street.
