Man arrested for shooting in East Grand Forks | The Mighty 790 KFGO

EAST GRAND FORKS/GRAND FORKS (KFGO – A man accused of firing a gun in East Grand Forks was arrested by a SWAT team in Grand Forks Sunday afternoon.

East Grand Forks police responded to an apartment complex in the 400 block of 17th Street Northwest. Witnesses told police that Marko Ruot was the shooter. He fled to Grand Forks.

His vehicle was later found in the 3300 block of Primrose Court in Grand Forks.

The Grand Forks Regional SWAT team was activated along with the Grand Forks Regional Bomb Team, Crisis Negotiations Team and UAS Team.

The officers finally managed to contact Ruot and arrest him.

Some tenants were asked to seek shelter, others left the building voluntarily. No one was injured.

Ruot will be held pending charges.
