Former teacher pleads guilty to child pornography charge

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A former teacher has pleaded guilty to a child pornography charge, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Monday.

Anthony Giambrone, 40, of Kenmore, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography involving prepubescent minors. In April 2020, while working as a teacher at Erie One BOCES at Maryvale Intermediate School, he had approximately 1,052 images and 381 videos of child pornography on two separate laptops.

He was placed on leave at the time of his arrest and no longer works at the school.

He faces up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced on August 27.
