Buffalo-Niagara Marriott renovations top million under new owner

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A little more than a year after changing hands, the Buffalo Niagara Marriott is completing a multimillion-dollar renovation of all of its 356 rooms and preparing to redo a banquet center.

Both are part of an investment by Visions Hotels LLC expected to cost between $15 million and $25 million. That’s more than the Corning-based company paid to buy the hotel through its subsidiary Amherst Lodging Partners in a $14.4 million deal closed in March 2023 following of an online auction.

Visions Hotels owns more than 50 properties in the Upstate region, as well as other holdings in Western New York, including Best Western Olean, Fairfield Inn Olean, Hampton Inn East Aurora and Holiday Inn Express Buffalo, Holiday Inn Express Olean and Home2 Suites Amherst/Buffalo, as well as properties in Georgia, New England and Pennsylvania.
