First warning: The summer pattern continues

(KFVS) – The work week continues to start with a summery pattern.

Today it will be partly cloudy, warm and a bit windy.

Afternoon highs will be in the upper 80s.

Dew points will be in the low to mid 60s, so there will be a slight heat index.

Tuesday looks to be the warmest day of the week, with afternoon highs near 90 degrees.

It’s also getting a little windier.

Strong storms and heavy rain are expected on Wednesday as a cold front moves in.

The SPC currently forecasts a level 2 out of 5 severe weather risk for the Heartland from Wednesday through Wednesday night.

Heavy rainfall could pose a problem as a slow-moving weather system passes through the region.

According to Wednesday’s system, isolated showers and even some thunderstorms are possible through the weekend, but there will also be periods of calm weather.
