Ray Holmberg pleads guilty to traveling abroad to sexually abuse a child – InForum

FARGO – Former North Dakota State Senator Ray Holmberg has pleaded guilty to traveling to Prague with the plan to sexually abuse a child.

The 80-year-old from Grand Forks appeared in U.S. District Court in North Dakota for his sentencing hearing on Thursday, August 8. Federal Judge Daniel Hovland accepted the guilty plea.

Sentencing for Holmberg, a Republican, is expected at a later date. Prosecutors plan to seek a prison sentence of about three years.
