Oakland County deputy sheriff killed in line of duty

(WXYZ) – The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy was killed in the line of duty.

According to a media release issued Sunday morning, the sheriff’s office will hold a press conference at noon to provide an update.

The press conference is scheduled to take place at the Pontiac Sheriff’s Office.

Oakland County Executive Dave Coulter issued the following statement:

“I am deeply saddened to learn of the shooting death of one of our Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies. Please keep him, his family, and his fellow County Sheriffs in your hearts today. I am in contact with Sheriff Bouchard to offer support to the Sheriff’s Office staff during this difficult time.”
