Von Miller is the Buffalo Bills’ ‘biggest question’ in 2024

Von Miller is the Buffalo Bills’ ‘biggest question’ in 2024

The Buffalo Bills have long viewed Von Miller’s leadership and coaching abilities as a valuable asset he brings behind the scenes.

But make no mistake, the Bills signed Miller to produce on the field.

In 2023, Miller hasn’t done much of that. After a promising start to his career in Buffalo, an injury caused a huge slump for the future Hall of Famer. Miller did not record a sack for the Bills last season as he played in 12 games in a limited role.

After that, the 35-year-old took a pay cut to stay with the team this offseason (which also helped improve his salary cap situation).

Overall, if Miller can bounce back? That would be huge for any team he’s on and NFL.com noted it.

The league’s website cited the “biggest question” facing every NFL team this offseason. Whether or not Miller can return to his previous form was up to the Bills.

Here is the breakdown:

Miller took a pay cut to stay in Buffalo this offseason, but even with $8.5 million guaranteed, he’s not in a position to make the final roster if the club doesn’t see improvement in part of the future Hall of Fame. Things move quickly in the NFL, and Miller hasn’t earned a Pro Bowl nod since 2019. In 12 games last season, he didn’t generate a sack, had 12 pressures on 164 passing snaps and made three tackles. The hope is that being further removed from his 2022 knee injury can get the edge rusher back into shape, but that’s not a guarantee for a 35-year-old. If Miller can’t be productive in a rotation role behind Greg Rousseau and AJ Epenesa, it might be time to move on to Buffalo.
