PINELLAS COUNTY – Detectives from the Crimes Against Children Unit (CAC) arrested a Tarpon Springs man for possession of child pornography.

Investigators began their investigation after receiving information that child pornography was being accessed and distributed on the Internet. Through various investigative techniques, investigators identified the suspect as 25-year-old Xavier Alers. According to investigators, the images and videos depicted children between the ages of four and twelve.

On May 23, 2024, detectives arrested Alers and charged him with twenty counts of possession of child pornography.

Alers was taken to the Pinellas County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
