CM Maryam becomes aware of a gang involved in the sexual exploitation of women – Pakistan

LAHORE: Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz on Saturday drew attention to alleged incidents of rape of women by a gang in Badu Malhi area of ​​Narowal district.

She said the anti-social gang of rapists must be punished by law and directed officials to arrest the gang immediately.

She sought a report from the Punjab Inspector General of Police on the issue.

The Narowal police have arrested a gang involved in filming the women picnicking with their families at the Bambanwala Ravi Bedian (BRB) canal and later blackmailing them by threatening to post “objectionable” material on social media upload to make money or exploit them sexually.

In some FIRs, the complainants said the suspects went to their houses, showed them objectionable videos of their daughters and other relatives and demanded money. The families paid them money on the condition that they would delete the videos, but they did not. Rather, they repeatedly approached the families and demanded more money.

A concerned family member said dusk Police favored some suspects because they enjoyed strong political support. He complained that the police did not include rape sections in the FIRs as a number of girls were raped by the suspects.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Police also released a statement claiming that they have arrested the gang members who were involved in ill-treatment, harassment and indecent acts against women.

Narowal District Police Officer Muhammad Naveed became aware of the incidents that took place on the canal stretch in Nedoke Police Station area and formed a special team led by DSP Saddar to arrest all the suspects immediately.

Mr. Naveed said legal proceedings against the suspects were underway and requirements of law and justice were being met.

The Inspector General of Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, said those who harassed women deserved no exception and all those involved would be punished according to the law.
