2 people found dead after shooting in a Deerwood home

JACKSONVILLE, Florida. – Two people were found dead in a home in the Deerwood neighborhood Friday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Police said they were called to the Gate Parkway area near Burnt Mill Road for a separate investigation.

Meanwhile, they started calling two people who were in a house and said they wanted to turn themselves in.

Some time later, police heard gunshots in the house and when they entered the house, they found two people dead.

JSO said the two people, whose identities were not disclosed, knew each other.

According to JSO, this was an isolated incident and there is no additional threat to the community.
