Metro Atlanta Announces 2nd Annual Catechists Conference, September 6-8 – Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America

Metro Atlanta has announced its second annual Catechists Conference, which will take place September 6-8, 2024, at the Diakonia Retreat Center in Salem, South Carolina.

The theme of the conference is “Bringing Our Children into Communion with Christ” and is open to all, including Sunday school teachers, adult religious educators, parents and grandparents of Sunday school students, parish ministry leaders, and clergy.

Guest speakers include Father Stephen Freeman, Archpriest of the Orthodox Church in America, Pastor Emeritus of St. Anne Orthodox Church in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and author of Everywhere Present: Christianity in a Single-Storey Universe And Face to Face: Knowing God Beyond Our Shame; Leslie Hansard, project manager for customer support training at the Chick-Fil-A Support Center and president of the Philoptochos chapter since 2021; and Father Steven Klund, pastor of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Registration, which opens soon, will include on-site lodging, all meals, opportunities for meaningful connection, and training to help you grow as a spiritual leader.
