1 dead after accident in southwest Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS – One person was killed in an accident in southwest Indianapolis on Friday evening.

According to a press release from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 4000 block of Kentucky Avenue for a report of a potentially fatal crash. When police arrived at the scene, they found a victim in critical condition.

The victim was taken from the scene to a local hospital and later pronounced dead.

The IMPD team is investigating the accident. Police public reporting systems indicate that officers were first called to the area around 5:19 p.m.

IMPD investigated two fatal crashes Friday evening. The second fatal crash occurred around 7:56 p.m. in the 5100 block of Massachusetts Avenue on the city’s east side.
