Man accused in Houston serial robbery case threatened victims with gun

HOUSTON – A man is accused in a serial thief case.

Ronald Albert is accused of robbing store employees at gunpoint.

Police say he is responsible for five aggravated robberies between May 14 and June 24.

The June 24 robbery occurred in the afternoon at a Circle K convenience store in Harris County.

The investigator said in court documents that Albert entered the store and first walked up to the counter with Arizona iced tea. The clerk told him they had a deal going on where he could get two teas for $4. He said no and left the store.

About two minutes later, the documents say, Albert came back inside and said he wanted to take advantage of the deal. He went to the back of the store, put on a black mask and then pointed a stainless steel semi-automatic pistol at the saleswoman and her co-worker.

Albert is accused of demanding money by holding the gun inches from a woman’s head. The woman put the money from both registers, about $215, in a bag.

The armed man then demanded more money from the store’s safe and the clerk told him there was no more money in the safe.

Documents indicate that Albert left the store with the $215.

We hope to hear more about the other thefts from the police at the briefing on Friday afternoon.

Alberts, who was charged with three robberies in 2013, is being held without bail.
