DeKalb police say teen killed pet bird with bare hands during argument |  MyStateline

KINGSTON, Ill. (WTVO) — A Kingston man has been charged with animal cruelty after he allegedly threw a woman’s pet bird against a wall during an argument.

According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, officers were called to the 100 block of West Street around 11:50 p.m. Thursday.

Police said 18-year-old Xavier Coles-Bush grabbed the bird with his bare hands during the argument and threw it against the wall, killing it. A witness confirmed these events, police said.

Coles-Bush was arrested and charged with criminal damage and cruel treatment of an animal.

He was booked into the DeKalb County Jail and then released on notice to appear at a later court date.
