Food delivery driver shot dead during Imperial Valley robbery

It happened around 10 p.m. on Imperial Valley just south of Beltway 8.

Houston police said the victim was delivering Uber eats food and left his wife and child in the car waiting for him. Upon returning to the car, the victim was approached by an unknown gunman who shot him in the chest.

The gunman then ran off and then the victim got back into his car, police said. He was able to drive down the street. This is where the police intervened and provided first aid.

He was then taken to hospital.

Police said they were investigating her possible theft because the victim was still in the apartment complex when the theft occurred.

A description of the suspect has not been released.
