Headmaster arrested for “sexual harassment” of a student

KARACHI:

Police have arrested the principal of a private school in Orangi Town for allegedly attempting to sexually assault a matriculating student and hitting her when she resisted.

According to reports, the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Iqbal Market police station.

The principal allegedly took the student to his office, made inappropriate advances to her and attempted to assault her. When the student resisted, the principal allegedly physically abused her. The victim informed his sister about the incident after returning home.

Her sister then submitted a written complaint to the Iqbal Market police station, which led to the registration of a case.

According to the victim’s sister, the principal had previously sent inappropriate messages via WhatsApp and called the student to his office on June 1, where he tried to attack her.

He also threatened her with serious consequences if she revealed the incident.

After registering the case, the police arrested the school principal and launched an investigation.
