Showboats Bookend Disappointing Season with Wins Against Roughnecks

MEMPHIS, TN – The Showboats ended their season as it began: with a victory against the Roughnecks. Memphis lost eight games in between, but never trailed in its season finale against Houston, earning the top pick in the upcoming UFL draft with a 19-12 victory.

The Roughnecks tied it with a 39-yard field goal from JJ Molson early in the final period, but Darius Victor found the end zone on the Showboats’ next drive and the Memphis defense sealed the victory.

Now, three necessary thanks to the guys who took one last opportunity to make some noise.

The 2022 USFL Offensive Player of the Year put on a show on a day when offense was hard to come by for Memphis. He led all rushers with 54 yards on 10 carries, also catching two passes for nine yards, and was responsible for both of the Showboats’ touchdowns.

Safety Markel Roby finishes the regular season tied for the most interceptions in the league (3) following his wild pick in the third quarter. Additionally, he recorded five tackles (two solo), one sack, one pass breakup and one forced fumble on Sunday.

Outside linebacker Jordan Ferguson appeared all over the Memphis stat sheet, contributing seven total tackles (four solo), one sack and two tackles for a loss.
