Man shot in Battle Creek apartment

BATTLE CREEK, Michigan (WOOD) – A man was shot and killed in a Battle Creek apartment early Saturday morning.

At approximately 5:40 a.m., officers from the Battle Creek Police Department were dispatched to the Teal Run Apartment complex, 5235 Horizon Dr., off Glenn Cross Road, where a shooting occurred.

Officers found a 21-year-old Battle Creek man with multiple apparent gunshot wounds in the apartment where he was staying. Life-saving measures were attempted, but he died at the scene.

It is unclear what led to the shooting.

No information has been released regarding the suspect. BCPD does not believe the community is in danger.
